General Policy
Regular attendance is crucial for academic success. Students are expected to attend all classes and school activities punctually. Absence from school without a valid reason is strongly discouraged. This policy outlines the procedures for applying for leave and the consequences of unauthorized absence.
Procedure for Applying for Leave
All leave applications must be submitted in writing by the parent/guardian.
- Short Leave (1-3 days): A leave application should be submitted to the Class Teacher, preferably in advance or on the first day of return if due to unforeseen circumstances. The application should state the reason for absence and the duration.
- Long Leave (More than 3 days): For planned absences exceeding three days, prior written permission must be obtained from the Principal. Applications should be submitted at least one week in advance, except in cases of emergency.
- Emergency Leave: In case of an emergency, parents/guardians should inform the school office (Ph: +91-9319641664) or Class Teacher as soon as possible on the first day of absence, followed by a written application upon the student's return.
Medical Leave
- If a student is absent due to illness for more than three consecutive days, a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner must be submitted along with the leave application.
- Students suffering from contagious or infectious diseases (e.g., Chicken Pox, Measles, Mumps, Whooping Cough, Conjunctivitis) must not attend school until they are fully recovered and present a fitness certificate from their doctor.
- The school may require a fitness certificate for rejoining even for shorter medical absences if deemed necessary.
Unauthorized Absence
- Absence without a leave application or prior intimation will be considered unauthorized.
- A student who is absent for more than ten consecutive days without any information to the school authorities is liable to have his/her name struck off the school rolls. Re-admission may be considered only at the discretion of the Principal, subject to availability of a seat and payment of re-admission fees.
- Habitual late-coming or absenteeism will be addressed with parents/guardians, and disciplinary action may be taken.
Rejoining After Leave
On rejoining school after any period of absence, students must submit the approved leave application or medical certificate (if applicable) to their Class Teacher. They are responsible for catching up on any missed lessons, assignments, and assessments.
Attendance Requirement
A minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory for promotion to the next class, as per CBSE guidelines (or relevant board). Exemptions may be considered by the Principal on genuine medical grounds or for participation in authorized school/sports events, provided all documentation is complete.
Important Note: Parents are requested not to send their children to school if they are unwell, even for examinations or tests. The health and well-being of all students is our priority. Arrangements for missed assessments due to medical reasons will be made as per school policy.
